America’s Atheist, Anti-Faith Atrocity

america's atheist anti-faith atrocity - by chad rising

I recently saw a clip of Jon Stewart on YouTube. He was asked by an audience member if faith had ever played a role in his life. He replied gleefully and with some light contempt that, no, faith has never played a role in his life and that he wishes he could get there but he can’t. He went on to mention how religion has been the cause of much suffering (true,) the Jewish practice of circumcision and ended on how strange the scrotum is. While I agree that circumcision might not be necessary and that organized religion is a leading culprit in thousands of years of human conditioning and suffering, the act of rejecting the idea of faith itself is causing a different kind of suffering; a suffering due to prideful ignorance rather than control.

(This article was inspired more by the comments on the video than what Jon himself said in the clip.)

The main point I am going to make here is that religion ≠ faith, (and vice versa,) and why a return to faith/belief is critical for the reawakening of humanity. I also note that while the article’s title is geared to the US of “America,” this idea applies to much of the developed world.

Conditioned To Not Believe

It is no secret that religion has been rejected by a majority of the USA’s population, starting more significantly in Gen X, then increasing in Millenials, and now isn’t even a discussion for most of Gen Z and younger. The trouble I have with watching this unfold is that there is a deep pride in many people (like the commenters) when they say they are atheist or when they reject religion. I do not believe this is something to be proud of.

Unfortunately, outside of dwindling religious circles, we’ve been conditioned to believe that rejecting faith and spirituality altogether is progressive, modern and a scientifically righteous middle finger to thousands of years of organized religion. It’s not. It’s a middle finger to ourselves, because we as humans are innately divine, no religion needed. Our lack and flatout rejection of the general idea of faith and the idea that the flesh, blood and brain are the pinnacle of the human experience is part of this mess we are in with society today.

My mother was “Christian” and my father was Jewish. I never went to church or temple. I wasn’t baptized or bar mitzvahed. Early on, I knew that religion couldn’t be the whole truth because growing up with both in the same household created a dissonance that cancelled each other out. Still, I never found myself resonating with the term atheist. I was fortunate enough to grow up in a home with enough generalized faith in a higher power that I eventually found my way to the agnostic term, which I proudly donned (and suppose I still do) starting in my late teens.

I was lucky. A growing number of people and households are dismissing the overall idea of faith or remaining ignorant of alternatives to religion. Why? Because the powers that be know that religion is finally failing and they are doing everything they can to ensure that the soul is never empowered through alternative or higher-perspective spiritual or metaphysical beliefs. They are working ‘round the clock, usually through technology and media, to keep transcendent and brand new ideas about humanity’s true essence hidden. They are feeding us empty content, garbage food and dysfunctional psychological and sociological templates in an effort to ensure we do not wake up to the truth; the truth that we are greater than our physical body and mind, something only found in religion until the last century.

The good news? They can’t hide this information from the entirety of humanity for much longer.

Naturally Divine

See, as humans, we are naturally divine. We are born out of an entity wholly immersed in and acting upon the rawest form of faith, which is pure energy and consciousness. When we reject the possibility of divinity, or act like “there is no god,” no higher power or no higher purpose, we are rejecting the larger part of our existence.

The larger part of us is the soul, aka the non-physical, but religion has wounded us so deeply that we would rather live as logic-and-reason meat bags than explore the possibility that religion might hold some truth under all that sin.

Because of our often total rejection and continued compartmentalization of anything spiritual or metaphysical as “woo-woo,” (much like the compartmentalization of music and media, mentioned in another essay,) we are voluntarily not reaching our true potential as humans, and we are encouraged to be proud of it!

Where Did It Go?

What has happened is that religion, by force and coercion over thousands of years, has extracted from society the divine nature of the human being, and placed it in a box that we’ve been told could only be accessed through itself–through religion and the practice or belief of its dogma. Now, because science can’t prove the existence of the soul or “god,” that which religion stole and locked away is now completely hidden, and in a way, lost on the mainstream modern world.

In other words, religion hijacked and gated it (the divine nature of humanity,) and science can’t and/or doesn’t want to un-gate it. Since religion did not return it to society or remove the gate, now that religion is rejected, where is it? It’s hidden. One must dig for the whole truth of humanity, and dig we shall. Digging and displaying our findings is what thousands of us around the world have elected to do during this transformative time on Earth and in humanity’s epochal history.

Science is the New Religion

Because of domineering and widespread indoctrination by the powers that be, I don’t blame Jon or the mass populace for rejecting the idea of a higher power or purpose. The problem is, because of our divine nature and the fact that even if we reject it or are ignorant of it, it’s still there, rejecting it without replacing it with anything means we are walking around half-alive. It creates dis-ease of all kinds.

So now we’ve reached a place where religion is no longer in control of explaining the higher realms of existence and humanity’s origin story, but science is. So, guess what? Science is just the new religion.

Changing your beliefs because of a scientific study? Blind faith in scientists.

Hear about disease, how it’s contracted or how to cure it? Blind faith in doctors.

Have questions about the origin of life on Earth? Blind faith in Darwin.

We now blindly believe in science and our scientists the way that we believed in the clergy. Even so, science can’t give us everything, much like organized religion. They both have boundaries of thought. They are both boxed-in. They are both controlled by the powers that be, which limits access and places a ceiling on potential.

What We Need To Do

Because of the power we’ve given to science, (the same power we gave to religion,) we are okay with shrugging our shoulders at the idea of a higher power and moving along with our lives. We believe science will take care of us, so we proceed, faithfully (lol.)

This voluntary and collective ignoring of the soul is unhealthy for humanity. We need to:

  • Reclaim and return divinity to the human individual.
  • Remember that faith and consciousness is higher than religion or science and is accessible to all without going through controlled avenues.
  • Be proud, not of atheism, but of the opposite; the reality that we are all god-energy incarnate.

We do not need priests, pastors and rabbis, scientists, doctors and celebrities, or any other figurehead to lead us into the light that we know as faith. We are born from what religion calls god, we live as god, and we return to our higher version of god when we die. We do not need science to put a cap or a question mark on our potential because god or faith cannot be quantified.

Reclaim and Remember

We, as a species, as a human race, must reclaim faith, divinity and spirit from the withering clutches of religion and the atheistic, limited grip of science.

Religion offers just a fraction of the higher/non-physical realms of existence available to us.

Science offers just a fraction of how the lower realms/physical world works.

(Combining both is where we’re headed and what we really should work on!)

We must break rank and go beyond our societal limits. We must not let religion nor science continue gatekeeping different parts of being human.

We need to remember that religion does not own faith. Religious leaders are simply leasing out and white labeling faith and spirituality as they see fit to control the masses and using our collective energy for their own nefarious or selfish initiatives; initiatives that benefit the few, not the many.

We need to remember that science does not own the physical world. Science is just men and their minds, attempting to prove “what is” for the benefit of the ego and control of our physical world.

We don’t need control. We don’t need to “know.” We are born with total sovereignty and total harmony with our physical world. We are born with all the knowledge (or the tools to access knowledge) that we need, and what we need now is to return to the heart; return to the soul; and return to a universal faith without limits or scientific explanation.

True faith is what we are born from; consciousness, and no religion or field of science will ever be able to prove it. That’s the point. It’s called faith because you either have it, or you don’t, and the decision to have or not is up to you, not religion, not science–you.
